Kiersten Barnet

Deputy Chief of Staff to the Chairman of Bloomberg LP

Kiersten Salander Barnet collaborates on key business and internal initiatives, corporate communications and strategic partnerships. She also leads Bloomberg's Gender-Equality Index, a first-of-its-kind performance barometer for gender equality at publicly held organizations. Kiersten is a Strategy Officer of the World Economic Forum, representing Bloomberg in the Media, Entertainment and Information Industry Group, and is also a member of the World Economic Forum's Gender Parity Steering Committee. Her dedication to gender equality issues extends to her work with the 30% Club, a group of nearly 75 chairmen and CEOs committed to better gender balance at senior management and board levels. In 2014 Kiersten helped launch the U.S. 30% Club with the goal of achieving 30% women on S&P 500 boards by the end of 2020. Since launch, members have moved the needle from a collective average of 21% women on boards to 29% women on boards - a testament to what business leaders can achieve when committed to driving change. She was subsequently appointed the country lead and Chair of the U.S. Steering Committee. Kiersten also sits on the Executive Women’s Council and is a member of W.O.M.E.N. in America.
