Meet With AngelList’s Million-Dollar Man

We’ve just announced another PITCH finalist. What does the winner receive? Among the prizes is a meeting with AngelList’s most backed man.

By Jessica Stillman (Editor, Women 2.0)

Reactions to AngelList’s new Syndicates and Backers features have been mixed with some commentators fretting about competition for traditional investors and other VCs, like 500 Startups’ Christine Tsai, shrugging off the news as just another positive option for founders. But here at Women 2.0 we’re psyched for the latest developments.

Why?

AllThingsD just took a look at the AngelList leaderboard and dubbed Google Venture’s Kevin Rose a “Million-Dollar Man” for already managing to collect $1.1 million on the revamped site. “Next time Kevin Rose makes an angel investment, he has more than $1.1 million at his beck and call to do it. Rose is the current leading man on AngelList, where 245 people have committed to put their own money into any of the deals he does,” writes Liz Gannes.

Being top dog on AngelList means bragging rights for Rose, but why is the news so exciting for us? Because a meeting with Rose is one of the prizes offered to the winners of the PITCH Competition taking place at our upcoming conference (discounts available here). The winner now gets not just a sit down with a seasoned investor, but a sit down with a seasoned investor with a million more dollars at the ready!

We’re excited to see who will win that prize. Watch this space for more finalist announcements in the weeks to come and good luck to all the founders participating.
