Our upcoming Investor Hangout is happening next Friday starting at 9am PDT on Google Hangouts. Investor Hangouts is a bi-weekly, virtual pitch event where founders get a rare opportunity to make valuable connections with an investor and learn how to refine and master their pitches. Each founder is allotted a 10-15 minute time slot to pitch to 2-3 investors and receive pitch feedback. Additionally, investors make introductions to potential advisors or other investors on behalf of participants with successful pitches. In some cases, they have set up meetings with the founders directly.
If you are a founder of a tech startup and looking for pitch feedback, make sure to register for Investor Hangouts before the registration deadline, next Wednesday, August 7th, 2013!
Read on to learn more about our two investors for Investor Hangouts #4.
Pearl is currently an Associate at Omidyar Network, where she focuses on venture investments in consumer, internet & mobile, financial services, and education technology in the United States. Within these sectors, Pearl seeks to invest in large consumer facing technology platforms that provide access to opportunity for individuals on a massive scale, with select investments including NationBuilder and Change.org. Omidyar Network is the leading philanthropic investment firm founded by eBay founder Pierre Omidyar and wife Pam based on the conviction that every person has the power to make a difference.
Pearl started her career at Goldman Sachs in the consumer retail investment banking group, advising a range of consumer-oriented businesses and Tinicum Capital where she invested in private and public investments across a range of industries, with a focus on the technology and telecom sectors. She fell in love with the startup world and “investing with a mission” after she spent time working as a senior associate with Samasource in East Africa, helping train local outsourcing partners and assisting entrepreneurs to develop business and financial models.
