Women 2.0 welcomes early stage investor Nikhil Kalghatgi to the afternoon live judging panel at November 14’s PITCH Conference.

Nikhil is an engineer, entrepreneur and product guy turned venture capitalist. He is currently a Principal at SoftBank Capital and an advisor to Gen Y Capital Partners (a new model for seed stage venture funds endorsed by President Obama to provide capital, eliminate founders’ student loans, offer free housing from universities, and peer-to-peer mentoring from successful founders under 35).

Fun facts about Softbank Capital investor Nikhil Kalghatgi:

  • Nikhil is currently invested and/or actively involved in – Mobile (Soundtracking, MocoSpace, Thumb, Piictu, JumpRamp), Social Marketing (BuddyMedia, Socialflow, Taykey, CrowdTwist), Consumer-Enterprise (BestVendor, PogoPlug), Funds (Lerer Ventures, TechStars, Gen Y Capital) and provides investment support for SoftBank Corporation (Zynga, Gilt Groupe).
  • He reveals how to impress a VC – “Mark Suster told me about this mobile app and I haven’t looked back. I use it all the time to send real postcards/thank you’s/friendly message to friends and acquaintances using photos on my phone… It figures out their addresses so I never have to ask. Oh, and you can sign it using your finger on the app for that extra personal touch. If an entrepreneur sent me a real postcard with a photo from our first chat, I’d be so impressed, how could I NOT invest??” (via SFgate)
  • Nikhil’s online persona is hilarious and culturally relevant – His Twitter bio was recently updated from: “I’m a VC. And this is crazy. But here’s my term sheet. Call me maybe?” (which was so last summer) to “VC. Gangnam Style.”

Catch Nikhil Kalghatgi in action as he judges the afternoon pitches at PITCH NYC 2012 Conference & Competition.
