What is Gamification, and why should you care?

Gamification is simply using game mechanics that make games so addictive and successful and applying them to non-game activities in order to change people’s behavior — to get them to participate, to come back often, and to buy more. It is said to be one of the largest movements/trends of our time.

Game mechanics have been applied to engage people, change behaviors and innovate in many different fields including innovation management, health, training, employee performance, and even social issues. Gamification may fundamentally change the way we live and interact with everything around us!
