TEDx Silicon Valley (TEDxSV) will gather a global community of leading thinkers and doers at Stanford University to discuss Innovations for Social Change on December 12th 2009. Due to an overwhelming response, the first TEDxSV event sold out in less than two hours. You are welcome to sign up for the waitlist here. In the interest of spreading social change for global good, TEDxSV will be streamed live on Ustream.com for the world to watch. More video, interviews, and content will be available following TEDxSV. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDxSV is part of a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provided a license and general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.

TEDxSoMa in San Francisco’s SOMA district will be a unique experience bringing together innovative ideas and people to grow the collective conscience. The first event will be on January 22nd, 2010. TEDxBerkeley will be held on April 3rd, 2010 when 700 remarkable people will descend on the UC Berkeley campus for a full-day immersion of TEDtalks and live presentations by some of the Bay Area’s most accomplished people.
