Know a female founder or leader who had a significant accomplishment this year? Nominate them for our 2013 successes list!
By Jessica Schimm (Editorial Assistant, Women 2.0)
This year has been a big year for women in tech. Microsoft appointed a female as the head of the Xbox division, Twitter added a woman to its board of directors after lots of chatter, GM just announced its first female CEO, Marissa Mayer helped grow Yahoo to 800 million monthly active users, attracting more US visitors than Google Inc during July, and that’s only the big companies.
In the startup sphere there is also lots to celebrate! Coursera received $43 million in funding, Eventbrite hit $2B in ticket sales since they started in 2006, PITCH finalist Tiny Post got acquired by Trip Advisor, and Shapeways aligned with mega brand Victoria’s Secret (to name a few).
As the year wraps up, we want to reflect on the success of the female founders and female leaders that are apart of our own community. So nominate a friend or yourself, and help us inspire our community as we head into the New Year.
Are you a female founder or a female leader with a success to celebrate in 2013? Or know of someone?
