Tiny Post, the winner of PITCH SF 2012 Startup Competition, was acquired by TripAdvisor this week. Tiny Post is a mobile app that lets users write over photos and turn them into stories.

The Tiny Post founders are Dick Brouwer and Melissa Miranda, who blogged recently about being the secret pregnant founder. Tiny Post employees will join TripAdvisor’s Palo Alto office.

“The Tiny Post team have created a wonderful app that shows the possibilities of combining travel photos with social and mobile,” said TripAdvisor co-founder and CEO Steve Kaufer. “We think Tiny Post is a great fit with our continued drive to provide engaging and sharable content and I am happy to welcome this strong team to TripAdvisor.”

TripAdvisor has made a number of startup acquisitions over the years, including last year’s acquisition of travel startup Wanderfly, co-founded by Christy Liu in Boston.

Congrats to the Tiny Post team on the acquisition!
