Los Angeles-based angel investor Eva Ho is currently a VP of Marketing and Operations at Factual. A tech founder herself, she co-founded Navigating Cancer in 2008 to empower cancer patients in navigating their best care options.
Eva has been angel investing and serving as an advisor for startups the past few years. She serves as an advisor for WebFWD, Mucker Lab, Common Crawl and newMe Accelerator.Eva is also active in the non-profit sector, founding Whole Child LA in 2008, a community pediatric pain clinic, and sits on the board of First Descents and Iridescent.

How and why did you decide to become an angel investor? "I decided six months ago because I found great like-minded partners who wanted to be real enablers for innovation."

What types of industries do you invest in? "We invest in startups that use data as an unfair advantage to create world-changing products."
What is your investment style? "Depends on the needs of the company."
How has your background played (or not) a role in your angel investing? "As a serial entrepreneur, I really understand what founders and startups go through. That enables me to be very empathetic to their needs."
One piece of advice to an angel-in-training? "Understand the risks and be prepared to lose all your money."
One piece of advice to entrepreneurs looking for capital? "Be courageous, persistent - find investors who will stay with you for the long haul."
What is an investment dealbreaker for you? "Arrogant founders."
