MasterCard is helping launch Women 2.0 City Meetup in new international cities! Find out how else they’ll be supporting diversity in the tech industry.

When we gathered our first Women 2.0 meeting in a San Francisco apartment back in 2006, we could have never foreseen that only a few years later we’d be hosting events around the world (City Meetups now take place across the U.S. and in Canada, Latin America and Europe), that more than 50,000 people would have have attended Women 2.0 conferences, or that we’d be sharing the news we are announcing today.
We’ve had the pleasure of working with many individuals who’ve started growing tech companies that either got funded or acquired, and larger companies that have gone on to make a dent and lasting impression in the industry. These are people and organizations committed to diversity, making things happen and seeing outcomes. At a time when many in the tech industry are decrying the gender imbalance and “outing” the hazings (or worse) experienced by female founders, with your help, Women 2.0 has already achieved a eight-year history of advocating for meritocracy in the tech world, and beyond.
We haven’t done it alone. With the support of Google, Microsoft and L'Oréal and many others - we’ve played an active role in changing the technology landscape, an important agenda for all. Today, we announce the addition of MasterCard to the Women 2.0 family as a sponsor of City Meetups in San Francisco, New York, Toronto (new city!), Dublin, Ireland (new city!) and St. Louis, Missouri (another new city!) as well as the Lunch Mentorship Sponsor of our next two conferences in San Francisco (September and February) and a co-branded networking event at Money 20/20 in Las Vegas.
Financial services are an essential part of life - everyone needs to transact. Disruptive upstarts are changing how all of us make financial transactions and MasterCard is a part of this evolution. They realize this evolution involves the consumers and creators, and for this reason, they came to Women 2.0 with a vision to better connect with our global community as consumers and creators.
