If you’re looking for evidence of just how fully technology has transformed the way we go about looking for love, you could do a lot worse than a recent study lead by a University of Chicago psychologist that found fully one-third of couples getting married in the U.S. met online.

That’s a whole lot of dates set up via website or app, and plenty of female founders are getting involved in this massive market. These women are replacing blind dates arranged by your meddlesome aunt with high-tech matching services and reshaping the way we make romantic connections. Meet some of them below:

heartChristina Brodbeck (Co-founder, TheIceBreak, Cofounderly)
A founding team member of YouTube and 500 Startups mentor, Brodbeck (@jellyfishbloom) is now at work on TheIceBreak, an app that doesn’t find you a new relationship but instead improves the one you already have.

imageLori Cheek (Founder & CEO of Cheek’d)
An architect turned entrepreneur, Cheek (@loricheeknyc) is the founder of a dating site the New York Times has called “the next generation of online dating” (though to be balanced, TC said it was “equally creepy and creative”).

a8bea6691a79d0748ee5a9b5de7e2b20Alexandra Chong (CEO & Co-founder, Lulu)
Lulu is a ladies-only space where women can rate men in their social network. It’s raised controversy (for — don’t laugh at the irony — “objectifying men”) and $3.5 million. Follow Londoner Chong on Twitter @alexandracchong.

03_royally_190x190Becca Elman (Co-founder, DateBritishGuys.com)
Partially In honor of a certain well publicized birth, but partially to illustrate that there are dating apps out there to suit every taste, we include the co-founder of DateBritishGuys.com. Now you know where to find a prince of your own.

Picture-6The Kangs (Co-founders, Coffee Meets Bagel)
CMB makes finding love nearly as simple as ordering lunch by delivering one prospective match every day at noon. Who’s behind the concept? The three Kang sisters, Arum, Dawoon and Soo, who are posting some impressive stats.

faceCourtney Riot (Co-founder, Let’s Date)
Part of the team that launched SuicideGirls, Riot (@courtneyriot) is now co-founder of Let’s Date, which calls itself “the Instagram of dating” and aims to be simple and smart — it learns your preferences to suggest better matches.

Interested in hearing more about the intersection of love and technology from Coffee Meets Bagel co-founder Dawoon Kang? See her at our 2013 conference in Las Vegas this November. Early bird tickets to the conference are available until July 31. Want an extra 30% off early bird tickets? Get a Women 2.0 membership! And…if you are a tech startup, with less than $1M in funding and at least one female founder, apply to our startup competition! First round closes (also) on July 31.
