Vietnam-Based Greengar, Co-Founded by CEO Thuy Truong, Joins 500 Startups in Mountain View

PITCH SF 2013 Startup Competition finalist company Greengar, based in Vietnam, lands in Mountain View to begin the 500 Startups accelerator program today!

Most know her as “the girl in the white dress” at the Women 2.0 Conference a few months ago. Greengar CEO and co-founder Thuy Truong flew in from Ho Chi Minh City to pitch her startup in front of a thousand people on Valentine’s Day, and today she lands in Mountain View with her team to join the 500 Startups accelerator program in Mountain View, California!

The sixth batch of 500 Startups starts today – congrats to the Greengar team!

Acceptance in the 500 Startups accelerator is great news for startups growing outside the Silicon Valley network. The network of mentors and advisors made available to 500 Startups portfolio companies is amazing. For example, our very own Women 2.0 CEO Shaherose Charania is one of the Mentors for 500 Startups, and many Women 2.0 blog contributors have been female founders participating or having participated in 500 Startups.

Previous female-founded companies in 500 Startups include CubieMessenger, LaunchBit, ActivityHero, Love With Food, PublikDemand, BabyList, ReClipIt, Timbuktu, Markerly, Chewse and many more.

Kudos again to the Vietnam-based Greengar team for being accepted into the sixth batch of 500 Startups!
