SXSW: Women Founder and Funder “Stuff” to Check Out (If You Even Have a Free Spot In Your Schedule)

Let’s face it – navigating the events of SXSW can be overwhelming. So we’ve done some of the work for you. If you’re a founder, and investor, a startup-lover, a watcher, or just want to check out some cool stuff, the below is a good starter list to tap into women-focused founder and capital opportunities at SXSW.

LLShe Pitch Competition Finals
3/7, 5:00-8:30, The Riveter Austin
The event will start with a panel – “Growing the Female and Diversity Driven Economy”. After that, three selected finalists will have the opportunity to make a pitch to an impressive panel of female judges.

How Washington DC is Changing Female Funding

There’s a noticeable imbalance in the world of venture capital: of the 100 largest venture firms in the US, 58 have no women partners at all. But that’s all changing in Washington DC, where there’s a steady rise in women-led funds and funding in female founders.

A discussion on how and why women are diving into entrepreneurship, offering insight on the steps (and missteps) the panelists have taken building their businesses, and discussing why women in this demographic are highly motivated and highly qualified to push themselves toward independence and success.

This networking event is open to all. It will focus on supporting female-identified and underrepresented minorities.
