Young Entrepreneurs to Watch in 2017

Earlier this month, I had the opportunity to travel to Eden, UT for a gathering with the Young Entrepreneur Council (YEC). In addition to enjoying the breathtaking mountain views, I got to meet some amazing high growth entrepreneurs, who inspired and energized me. I’m excited to share their stories with you along with some of their thoughts on leadership.

Lindsay Tanne, LogicPrep

“I was once told that ‘the high road is never the wrong road.’ I try to remember that in all my interactions with my clients and team members — and instill this in the culture of our organization.”

LogicPrep specializes in preparing high school students for college. Combining individualized instruction with software designed to enhance the process, LogicPrep’s innovative approach to test preparation and academic advising helps students maximize their study time and develop the skills that will help them succeed in college and beyond.

Jennifer Mellon, Trustify

“The best leadership advice I have ever received came from my first boss at the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute.  She shared that if I do everything in life with diligence and excellence I will accomplish everything I set out to do. That mindset leads every decision I make and those are the qualities I value most in my team.”

Trustify is the first technology platform to connect clients and businesses to the only nationwide network of licensed, highly-vetted private investigators. The platform provides affordable, confidential, on-demand access to experienced professionals – without the typical large retainer charged by most traditional private investigation agencies.

Laura Land, Marketplace Valet

“I once heard Jack Brown of Stater Bros. speak and he said he employed a management technique called ‘MBWA’ or Management By Walking Around.  I find this to be an extremely effective way of getting to know your employees and letting them interact with you in a non-threatening atmosphere.”

Marketplace Valet simplifies the process of selling your products on multiple online marketplaces. They can take over the entire process for you from A to Z. They can handle everything from product imaging to fulfillment to customer service. Their services let you focus on either product development or sourcing while they focus on getting your products listed and sold.

Betsy McHugh, Hurdl

“The strongest leaders know there is no way for one person to know everything.
