Jen Millard, an incredible entrepreneur, contacted me recently. She’s a regular Women 2.0 conference attendee who worked at a startupthat was recently acquired by MasterCard. Millard, along with MasterCard executives, have proven their dedication to entrepreneurship, tech innovation and women, and we are excited to welcome MasterCard to the Women 2.0 family with this kick-off even

According to Jen, “It’s important for all companies, including MasterCard, to embrace the attributes of being agile, quick to market, learningfrom the work you do each day, and then applying those learnings to new efforts.  MasterCard is a company that understands the value of ongoing innovation, and continuing to keep an eye on what consumers want.  That’s how we’ll continue to delight consumers when it comes to how they pay for the things that matter to them.”

At the event we will hear from mobile banking pioneer, author and entrepreneur Carol Realini. When I think entrepreneurship in the financial sector, she is one of the first people that comes to mind. Carol led the lead the growth of global payments at Obopay, a global mobile payments company and also authored “Financial Inclusion at the bottom of the Pyramid.” We’ve heard her speak at a Women 2.0 conference back in 2009 and interviewed her on her tips for raising money, to which she gave great advice.

On that note, let’s get networking with folks from Finovate and other innovators looking to connect with the tech community in San Jose!

See you there!
