The Well-Funded Aerospace Startup You Never Heard of

Ching-Yu Hu, co-founder of Skybox Imaging, talks about building and scaling a company with a bold vision. Her talk begins at minute 30 of the hour-long video.

Four years after Skybox Imaging started at Stanford University, Skybox’s founders (Dan Berkenstock, Julian Mann, John Fenwick and Ching-Yu Hu) kicked off Stanford’s E-Week at STVP’s Entrepreneurial Thought Leaders seminar.

Hear the team of Stanford alumni explain their passion to change the way we view the world and share tales of launching their relatively unknown aerospace startup, a unique venture as explained here:

The talk is a collection of stories and learnings as the startup co-founders took Skybox from a graded business plan at Stanford into a space startup. Skybox is building a constellation of satellites and an internet-scale data platform to deliver on-demand satellite imagery of any spot on earth. They have raised $91 million from investors including Khosla Ventures and Bessemer Ventures, have assembled a team of more than 90 engineers, and is scheduled to launch its first fleet of satellites later this year.
