Female Founders To Watch: Grace Hopper Celebration Attendees Celebrating Startup Acquisitions And IPOs

Celebrating GHC attendees and women entrepreneurs who exit!
By Angie Chang (Co-Founder & Editor-in-Chief, Women 2.0)

This week, Women 2.0 has been attending the Grace Hopper Celebration in Baltimore, Maryland alongside literally thousands of women engineers, ranging from college students and academics to working professionals.

Amidst the throngs of tech-savvy women, we’ve spied a few notable women, including Robin Chase who flew in from France to talk about starting Zipcar. She presented at the Tech Entrepreneurs Lab. She talked about starting the company in a very lean way, continuing to grow the business and eventually taking her company public in 2011.

On the topic of creating and recognizing role models among us, let’s celebrate the women who have exited their companies via initial public offering (IPO) or acquisition. Noteworthy accomplishments (ie. acquisitions, IPOs) give us more credibility the next time a woman entrepreneur goes out seeking venture capital investment or future partnership.

These women have been roaming around Grace Hopper Celebration – find one and make her your mentor!
