Linqia Founder And CEO Maria Sipka Raises $3.475 Series A

The social advertising platform exits stealth mode.

Linqia founder and CEO Maria Sipka exiting stealth mode last week with a funding announcement – she raised $3.475 million Series A led by $2.5 million from Javelin Venture Partners, with participation from existing angel investors like Esther Dyson.

A “social advertising platform”, Linqia helps brands share their stories and content with influential community leaders. CEO Maria Sipka told TechCrunch, “Brands these days can only manage 10-15 communities, but that overlooks the mid- to long-tail.” Linqia is here to capture the long tail of social media marketing.

Previous to Linqia, Maria Sipka was COO of the European business social network Xing.

Congrats to Maria Sipka and the team for the official launch and round of institutional funding – we’re looking forward to hearing how the long tail of social media marketing pans out.
