Vying for top prize, PITCH NYC 2012 Startup Competition finalists will be competing for $25,000 in cash, a prized investor meeting with Marc Andreessen and a host of startup-friendly services.

Today we are announcing the first three judges joining us for PITCH Startup Competition (Nov. 14 in NYV) – Charlie O’Donnell (Partner, Brooklyn Bridge Ventures), David Tisch (Managing Partner, BoxGroup) and Joy Marcus (Venture Partner, DFJ Gotham).

Here’s some background on the investors who will be joining us on November 14 in New York:
Charlie O’Donnell (Partner, Brooklyn Bridge Ventures)
Charlie is a Partner at Brooklyn Bridge Ventures, working on very early stage investments in the “Greater Brooklyn” area, which also includes Manhattan and the other boroughs of New York City. He previously spent two plus years at First Round Capital, where he sourced the firm’s investments in GroupMe (sold to Skype), Backupify, chloe + isabel, Refinery29, Docracy, Singleplatform, and Salescrunch.

David Tisch (Managing Partner, BoxGroup)
David manages BoxGroup, a seed stage investment fund investing in talented entrepreneurs building disruptive technology companies. Based in New York City, BoxGroup actively invests in the New York Metro Region and opportunistically elsewhere. Typical angel investment ranges from $25,000 to $250,000. Previously, David worked as Managing Director of TechStars NYC. He is also an angel investor based in NYC.

Joy Marcus (Venture Partner, DFJ Gotham Ventures)
Joy joined early stage venture capital firm DFJ Gotham as Venture Partner in May 2011. Prior to DFJ, Joy was General Manager, US for video website Dailymotion from its US launch through its acquisition by Orange (France Telecom). Prior to Dailymotion, Joy was SVP Global Marketing at Time Warner and VP Business Development of Barnes&Noble.com, which she helped take public in 1999.

We are excited for a full day of women entrepreneurs, executives and investors gathering on November 14, 2012 in New York City for PITCH NYC Conference & Competition). A whopping 16 speakers are anticipated, with 95% of them women and 50% with engineering backgrounds. Of course, all of the speakers have founded successful startup companies, several of them with million dollar exits!

Along with best practices, case studies and keynote talks from successful women entrepreneurs, we will be watching the finalists from the PITCH NYC 2012 Startup Competition pitch live to judges. Of these 10 top startups, all have at least one female founder, 90% of them have a female CEO and 40% of them have a female CTO (or equivalent). Not too shabby!
