    In the past four months of big-ticket tech exits, Wildfire, co-founded and led by the engaged couple Victoria Ransom (CEO) and Alain Chuard (head of product management), was bought by Google for at least $250 million; Michael (CEO) and Kass (COO) Lazerow’s Buddy Media sold to Salesforce for $745 million-plus; and LinkedIn purchased married couple Rashmi Sinha (CEO) and Jon Boutelle (CTO)’s SlideShare for $119 million.

    PITCH 2010 Startup Competition finalist Amita Paul pitched Objective Marketer onstage at the November conference. A few months later, Objective Marketer was acquired by Emailvision!

    This year, we’ve seen big exits from social media marketing companies, starting with Buddy Media (co-founded by COO Kass Lazerow) getting acquired by Salesforce for a whopping $689M), Involver was acquired by Oracle while Wildfire Interactive (co-founded by CEO Victoria Ransom) was acquired by Google for $250M.

    Google beefs up their social efforts with acquisition of social marketing startup Wildfire Interactive today.

    Google declared on its blog today that they will be “sparking better conversation with Wildfire”, announcing the acquisition of social marketing startup Wildfire Interactive today. Wildfire was co-founded by Victoria Ransom and Alain Chuard (both pictured).

    In an interview, Victoria talked about growing up on a farm in New Zealand “in the middle of nowhere”. She caught the entrepreneurship bug and in the midst of her second or third company, she realized that even as a business person without technical skills, she wanted to create an online platform to scale the social media marketing efforts for everyone. Wildfire Interactive was born.
