To generate economic value and positive social impact, Oakland-based investment fund Kapor Capital invests in human capital. Today, Kapor Capital has contributed 10 conference passes – to be awarded to women of color – to attend the upcoming Women 2.0 Conference on February 14 in San Francisco.

Kapor Capital is sponsoring ten (10) scholarships for women of color who are otherwise financially unable to attend Women 2.0’s annual conference on February 14. Attendees will learn from case studies and talks by successful women executives and founders of technology companies, and network with 800+ fellow entrepreneurs, investors and technologists.

The first batch of scholarships will be awarded on January 17, 2013.

Thanks to Kapor Capital for taking the initiative to support women in tech by providing financial resources to drive social change in communities of color.

“The scarcity of any women at most tech startup events is mirrored by the scarcity of African American and Latina women at events for women entrepreneurs. Just as Women 2.0 sees a need and is working diligently to fill it, we at Kapor Capital want to make sure that *all* women can participate in and contribute to the tech startup ecosystem,” said Freada Kapor Klein, partner at Kapor Capital.

Kapor Capital partner Freada Kapor Klein will be speaking at the Women 2.0 Conference in an afternoon panel about the funding landscape for entrepreneurs and the “Series A Crunch”.

Additionally, Brian Dixon, a Kapor Capital associate, will be one of the investors available at lunch to meet. He will be available at the conference to talk to anyone who wants to connect.
