Women 2.0 welcomes early stage investor James D. Robinson to the morning live judging panel at the PITCH Conference on November 14. Purchase your $300 all-day conference pass and get inspired by the speakers, startups, mentors, investor and more.

A serial entrepreneur, James co-founded RRE Ventures in NYC. The early-stage venture capital firm manages over a billion dollars of capital across five funds, defining the scope of their investment horizon as products or services enabled by information technology and assisting in the creation of category-defining businesses.

Fun facts about James D. Robinson of RRE Ventures:

  • James often invests in businesses that leverage network effects and/or crowd-intelligence. He is currently a Director of Boom Financial, GetGlue, Netsertive, OLO.com, OpenPeak, Quirky, SmartPay, and WisdomTree (WETF), and advises several seed companies, including Affinity China (co-founded by CEO Christine Lu and Jessica Shu) and Amicus.
  • James co-founded a company with Stuart Ellman in early 1994. This was an attempt to build in-stadium touchscreen ordering systems. They were ten years too early. So Stuart and Jim started their own venture capital firm later that year – RRE Ventures was born!
  • James is a dog person. He is also the son of James D. Robinson III, the former chair and CEO of American Express. He talks about starting up RRE with his father and business partner here.

Watch James D. Robinson ask questions and give feedback to startup pitches at PITCH NYC 2012 Startup Competition.
